Harleigh’s years of professional expertise give her the instinct to choose horses that meet the need of each individual rider. She’s invested in a stable that meets individuals at their comfort level. Harleigh’s desire for sharing the joy and growth she herself has gained from working with, and riding horses, had her create this introductory offer for new riders. You won’t find a lower rate anywhere in the area!

This current offer won’t be around forever. We recommend you take advantage of it now — and let your child find out from personal experience if working with, and riding horses, is their passion, too!

The riding school serves all ages and abilities, designed specifically for riders who intend on riding at least once or twice a week. MHRA does not offer single lessons.

FAQ

What will you need on your first day?

You should wear long pants and a boot with a heel such as a hiking boot. No cowboy boots or high heels please. You will also need a riding helmet that is ATSM/SEI approved. It is important to be properly fitted for your helmet. It does not need to be expensive. Marin Tack & Feed is offering a 10% discount to all MHRA students so please drop in and ask for Jessica for all your apparel needs! She is nearby and happy to help.

What is your billing policy?

At MHRA, we offer monthly billing membership through QuickBooks.

You can choose to ride once or twice per week, with the option of adding beginning jump tuition when you’re ready.

  • Monthly membership rates: $460 for once per week or $920 for twice per week.
  • For months with five weekends (Nov ’24, Jan ’25, May ’25), rates will be $575 and $1,150, respectively.

In the event of a missed lesson, there are no cancelation penalties, even a same day lesson. You have an unlimited amount of time to make up your lessons. We offer back-to-back lessons and multiple lessons can be taken in a given week to make up a missed lesson. If there are over 3 missed lessons, only two lessons will be allowed to be made up each month. Missed lesson make-ups are only honored if your membership is in good standing.

Your invoice will go out three days before the end of the month and will be considered late if payment is not received by the 3rd of the month. A $10 per day late penalty will be added until the 10th of the month, upon which the account will be suspended.

A credit card convenience fee of 3.5% will be added to all invoices.

Do you still provide horse-riding lessons during your Summer Camp?

Due to the impact on the horses and riding grounds during our horse riding camps for kids, MHRA Memberships are automatically suspended for the months of June – August. Individual lessons can be taken in an ala carte fashion and will be billed at the end of each month.

MHRA sends out an email for your commitment in September for Memberships mid-July. Please reach out to Harleigh if you have any questions.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancelation policy for the lesson membership program: Due to the overhead costs necessary to keep our horses healthy and able to ride, our costs are assed carefully for each month. MHRA therefore requires a month’s notice for all suspensions or cancelations of rider memberships. For suspended accounts due to lack of notice, there will be a $250 additional administration fee to return your membership to good standing.

Cancelation policy for Summer Camps: MHRA will refund 50% of deposit prior to April 10th, 2025. On May 15th, 2025, all balances due for summer camps will be charged to the card on file. At that point, should you be unable to attend your camp session, MHRA will do its best to accommodate make-up dates for camp based on space available. However, funds will not be refunded.

Can you accommodate physical limitations?

We ask you to please advise us at the time you make your appointment of any physical limitations that may affect your ability to ride. Please call 415-686-5286.
